Indonesia remains its vaccination campaign on Wednesday

(MENAFN)On Wednesday, Indonesia started the second phase of its vaccination campaign. The government plans to vaccinate 16.9 million public sector workers and 21.5 million people aged over 60 by May. The new phase initiated with Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, took his first dose of the Chinese Sinovac jab in the capital Jakarta and traders being immunized at the Tanah Abang market, the busiest textile hub in Southeast Asia. The Health Ministry stated that people included in the public worker category are lecturers, teachers, market traders, religious leaders, parliament members, state officials, government employees, police and military personnel, public service officers, public transportation officers, journalists, athletes, and those working in the tourism sector.

The expansion includes an influenza treatment based on Vir s antibody technology. Shares0   GlaxoSmithKline’s coronavirus collaboration with Vir Biotechnology has yet to advance a product to the market but the progress thus far has convinced the pharmaceutical giant to broaden the partnership beyond Covid-19. GSK is paying Vir $225 million up front and making a $120 million equity investment in its partner. The most advanced product candidate covered by the expanded agreement is VIR2482, a Vir influenza treatment in early-stage clinical development.

Ashland selectmen hear update on power outage February 17, 2021ASHLAND At their Feb. 15 regular meeting, the Ashland selectmen learned about the Feb. 9 electric outage, discussed the audit and utility billing with the Finance Officer, and held a public hearing on the income from the Library s copier and fax machine. Public Works Director Craig Moore explained that technicians had been working all that day testing the transformers and related equipment at the town substation behind the Town Garage, trying to determine what caused the town wide power outage on the morning of Feb. 9. The technicians still had more testing to do, and were scheduled to return two days later to complete that job. They will make a formal report on the problems they discovered. But, their preliminary findings were that the outage was caused by two factors. The settings on one of the two transformers were incorrect and
